Left, right, left, left– geez, handball moves fast! So fast that moments that actually decide the game go unseen. The challenge for brands: how do you earn your place in such a dynamic environment?
Idea
With DKB we slowed the game down without taking any speed out of it:
Together with the HBL and KINEXON, we brought data right into the heart of handball. Sensors in the ball and on the players capture every movement on the court: speed, positioning, distance, shot velocity.
From this data, we built the Handball Performance Index. A system that makes performance visible and understandable. With that, DKB helps explain what actually decides a match.
Impact
The Handball Performance Index is now embedded in the Bundesliga: in broadcasts, media coverage and official awards. Introduced in the 20/21 season and continuously developed ever since, it has become a relevant standard in handball over the past six years.
DKB brings its core strength into the sport – and is part of every single matchday across multiple touchpoints.
